1. Use different materials. Platinum spark plugs are usually made from nickel alloys, which are alloys based on nickel with other elements added to them. Iridium spark plugs are made from platinum, a naturally occurring white precious metal;
2. The service life is different. Platinum spark plugs usually need to be replaced every 30,000 kilometers. Iridium spark plugs have a longer service life because they are more durable than ordinary spark plugs;
3. The prices are different. Platinum spark plugs are made of alloy and are cheap. Iridium spark plugs are made of the precious metal platinum, and their price is tens of dollars higher than ordinary spark plugs;
4. The spark gap is different. The spark gap of platinum spark plugs is only 0.7~0.8mm, and the spark gap of iridium spark plugs is 1.1~1.5mm, which causes a qualitative change in the performance of the spark plugs.
