1. The spark plug is seriously burnt. The spark plug tip is scarred, damaged or the electrode is melted or ablated.
(1) The electrode is melted and the insulator is white. This indicates that the temperature in the combustion chamber is too high. This may be caused by excessive carbon deposition in the combustion chamber, which causes the exhaust valve to overheat or the cooling device to work poorly, or the spark plug is not tightened according to the specified torque.
(2) The electrode becomes round and the insulator is scarred. It indicates that the engine ignites early, which may be due to premature ignition or use. Reasons for low gasoline grade and high spark plug calorific value;
(3) The top of the insulator is broken. Detonation combustion is the main cause of insulator rupture. The ignition time is too early and the gasoline grade is low If the temperature in the combustion chamber is too high, the engine may knock and burn.
(4) The top of the insulator has gray and black stripes. This stripe indicates that the spark plug has leaked and should be replaced with a new one.
2. The spark plug has deposits. Sometimes there will be deposits between the top of the spark plug insulator and the electrode.
(1) Oily deposits. Oily deposits on the spark plug indicate that lubricating oil enters the combustion chamber. If there are only individual spark plugs, the valve stem oil seal may be damaged. If the spark plug of each cylinder is stuck with this deposit, it indicates that the cylinder is leaking oil. Check whether the air filter and ventilation device are blocked.
(2) Black deposits. There are black deposits on the spark plug electrode and inside, indicating that the mixture is too thick, which can increase the engine running speed and last for minutes, and then burn off a layer of black soot on the electrode.
